oblivion isnt a brand new game correct?

Ill put it this way: F.E.A.R. is, as far as i know, currently the most graphically demanding game on the market, and my 5720 handles it with no problem, so yes, you should have no problem maxing out your settings on Oblivion.

EDIT: I didnt realize that when u said Oblivion you meant the newest elder scrolls game.... Well in that case Im not sure if i could tell you.

I get decent FPS on FEAR maxed, and Oblivion can't be a whole lot more graphics wise, so the 5720 should still handle it no problem

Oblivion is alot harder to run than FEAR. Oblivion is a brand new game...it is the next one in the Elder Scrolls series.

I can play FEAR with everything on high at 1440x900 with no shadows.

I can play Oblivion on 1440x900 at medium settings. So Oblivion is alot harder to run. :)

I'd say it better be able to... The GO 7800 GTX is the best notebook GPU out right now, so, uh, if it doesn't run playably on moderate settings I think Bethesda's going to have some problems selling =/

From what I have read it plays good with alot of the eye candy. One guy played on 1680x1080 (I think) with HDR on and alot of stuff on and got 30FPS outside. Which isn't bad considering the game plays slow like Real life. If you get coolbits and turn the number of frames rendered ahead from 3 to 0 you get about a 5-10FPS jump. Not bad. :)

I haven't, but the 7800GTX is the best GPU for notebooks right now and still great for desktops, even though the 7900 is out now. It should run it at max settings pretty well, seeing as how it runs pretty good on the 6800.

yea i just got this game. I have a sager 5720, 2gb of ram with a 7200rpm harddrive and 2.0ghz.

I let it do the auto config, it set it to ultra high quality, 1024x768 with HDR. It looks pretty good. It can get slightly framey, but nothing bad.

I have a feeling though if i set it higher, it will get framey, considering its not butter smooth now, but very playable either way..

I might try adjusting resolution and see how it goes.

BTW, amazing game, so much better than morrowind, the main quest of the game is much easier to get into and i like the plot better. Definately buy it.
