cool. I've noticed that xoticpc is offering a 2 year labor warranty for free on the sager. do you think powernotebooks would match it?

What does a labor warranty cover? You buy the parts and they'll install them?

Well if you're getting an extra year from Xotic, I think it means that if anythign's wrong they'll fix it for you but you have to pay for the parts.

Yeah - but I don't mind ripping apart a laptop at all if its out of warranty - I did with a really old 14" compaq to fix the power jack

for the first year, with a standard warranty of course - but then Xoticpc adds an additional 2 yrs labor on their own... just a perk of buying through them I guess

This is correct. However, xotic has a potential typo in the specifications here

    Notice the warranty:
"3 Year Complete Care Warranty with 3 Year Full Parts/Labor Warranty, 24/7 Toll Free Domestic Technical Support & Next Business Day Shipping both ways
One, Two & Three Year (ADP) Accidental Damage Protection Full Coverage Plans along with Onsite service (Optional)"

oh I misunderstood, I was worried that even if I had the warranty intact I would still have to pay for parts and labor.

So Who would you say is the best place to order from, Xotic or Power notebooks? They both seem to have the same pricing.

They're both excellent resellers, so it may be up to fate with flipping a coin, if necessary!

    I think xoticpc.com has a better price.

be warned though...their accessories are freaking overpriced.

A G5 mouse for 63 dollars? You can get that on newegg for 46 dollars and 38 dollars after rebates.

As I ordered from xotic, I would say they are the best :) Seriously, I've had communication with both resellers and consistently recommend each.

Check them out at resellerratings. com (and be sure to compare them to other more 'popular' resellers like Dell)

It's an opinion, not a fact :) I recommend both resellers. It's a matter of preference - in additon to reselleratings, I'd suggest calling/emailing each of them to get a feel for their respective services.

Xotic has been really good so far even when I changed my order twice. :p (Once for the screen and once for bluetooth). They respond really quickly to any questions. I haven't had any experience with powernotebooks, but one of their reps posts here all the time so I'm assuming the customer service there is just as good. I think they are both an equally good choice.

Xoticpc is amazing when it comes to customer service. I am in the painful position of waiting for my np2090 and I don't know how many changes I have made to my order during my wait but xoticpc has complied to every request that I have made. Not only that, but I have never seen a company respond to my numerous e-mails so promptly. Overall, even though my purchase has been backordered I am very satisfied with the company, and that's saying a lot.

I'm gonna have to agree with Ilovelamp and Lt. Cobalt, I ordered from XocticPC and since then have changed my order (from WXGA to WSXGA+ and the warranty) and received quick notification from Justin that the changes have been made.

My after-order experience has been very similar with xoticpc (glad I'm not the only one having second thoughts :) ). They price matched a component. I changed my order to include that component. Then I completely changed to the 2090 elite package (wanted the higher res screen). Xoticpc has been very quick to respond and make the changes despite the apparent backlog of orders and order changes.

    I went for powernotebooks.com - it was a 10 dollar difference and a Christian company - I support that
