That is an insane machine shinrai...killer CPU.

The shipping and built time estimates are reasonable, about how long it took for mine to be built. Where did you order from?

Congrats on a fine choice! :)

Hey, Nice machine you ordered. Actually a bit better than mine. I live on the east coast (PA), and I ordered mine on November 30th (wednesday night). I paid by credit card, i think some names didnt match and they said they would call my house, and i got a call on Friday.

They started building on Monday, had it shipped out on Tuesday or Wednesday, and is expected to come tomorrow (Tuesday). That was UPS Ground Shipping from California to Pennsylvania.

Also, if I do get it tomorrow (will be pissed if I don't), expect a review, I hope to take quite a bit of pictures, 10 or more. I feel there werent enough pictures of this laptop. Also, I wanna install doom 3, half life 2 (if it doesnt take 5 hours), and maybe UT2k4 and far cry and test out what FPS they get, at what resolution, etc. Also, a 3dmark05 score, and maybe if I have time I will follow that laptop speed up guide posted on this forum somewhere.

I feel those areas people didnt cover fully, and I want to cover them well. I should also have a good 5 hours+ to use it tomorrow, and expect a review tomorrow night.

PowerNotebooks.com is awesome, that is also where I ordered my Sager from. Best purchase experience I have had when buying a notebook.

Congrats! We will be interested to hear your thoughts on it when you get it.

Hey - if you're interested, you can write a review for us - we'll pay you too. Just Private Message abaxter (Andrew - he's a site admin) and say that you would like to do a review, and he'll show you the rest.

Good luck shinrai and stemo. Hope they live up to your expectations. It would be good to get some more 5720 reviews. Looks like a really powerful machine.

Does anyone know what the equivalent of the 5720 is for the Clevo models? Like, the Sager 5320 is equivalent of the Clevo M560A. I'm interested in this because I live in Australia, and have so far only found Clevo machines in my country.

Thanks, and good luck with your new laptops ;)

Since I don't have 20/20 vision I would have gone with WSXGA. Anyway, that is one killer laptop Shinrai. Looking forward to your review.

Off topic; is the 5720 the lightest laptop capable of using the 7800 GTX? Do other manufacturers like DELL or that Alien notebook maker have anything lighter?

I don't know if I want to write a real snazzy review. For now, it will just be a short but sweet one, I will consider it in the future after having it for a while.

Laptop Status: Just got back from school...now we play the waiting game...

If you have the wireless built in, then you can just use that to connect to the router. ;) The only reason you would need a PCMCIA card is if you didn't have the internal card.

    All the best,

Hey guys i was just wondering whats a good headset that you guys use, cause the audigy zs thing is only compatible with headphones n sets. Anyway i just got my router working, but it seems it lags in certain websites for some reason, is this normal? And is my intel wireless thing usually gonna be as fast as my wired connection or slightly slower, btw i have a linksys wrt54g, thx.

Yes- the lag is most likely due to the website, and if it's only happening on certain websites, then that is a good indication. The wireless is never going to be as fast as a wired connection, but it should be very close, depending on the circumstanes. If there is a lot of stuff (walls, etc.) inbetween you and the router, then the wireless is obviously going to be slower, but if you're just across the room, then you shouldn't notice a difference between wireless and wired just surfing.

What wireless software are you using? I found that the standard Windows wireless software is very stable and reliable.

Also, how much do you want to spend on a headset? You would get a lot more information on that in the accessorie forum. ;)

I would recommend the Plantronics Audio 90s. They can be found on Newegg for around 20 dollars. Thats dirt cheap for a great pair of headsets.
