After shopping around for my next laptop i've settle on either on the NP8660 or the NP2096, depending on how much money I can put aside in the next few weeks. Reading around, I've notice most people seem to be ordering from XoticPC when Sager offer them on their website. Any reason for ordering from a retailer rather then the manufacturer ? Just want to see if there's any hidden things I should know before ordering anything :p

    Thanks !

We went over this many times.

The resellers act as a middle-man that will give you better service/support, while still having the full backing of the importer OEM (Sager) for hardware support.

So the resellers act as the sales/service branch of Sager... which is beneficial to customers.

There is nothing wrong with going with Sager, but then you would have to rely on their support, which is not bad, but they have so much orders that the sales and customer service may not be as good... which is why they have amazing resellers like XoticPC and Powernotebooks.

It's also actually ~$100 cheaper through resellers.

    edit:
So yeah, better service + cheaper + active representatives on this forum = win!

I can understand the hesitation, though, as it's a bit odd to realize that a third party is a good idea in this case.

You have a 1 year part / 3 year labor warranty with XoticPC while you just have a 1 year part and labor with Sager.
