Those clocks are ridiculous, that's why
Start "slow", 650/1025/1625, then test the system youself in increments of 5 or 10. -
yea Those clocks are almost my max .....
i started slow pushing 10 @ a time
proof if anybody wants -
Sorry to barge in, but anothergeek, does that mean 650/1025/1625 are perfectly stable clocks for the GTX 260M @ 1.05v? (No artifacts, crashes, etc.)
How much heat have you found those settings to produce?
EDIT: And what sort of lifetime can I expect out of the card if those are my gaming settings, assuming lower-than-stock nongame settings and approx. 12 hours of gaming per week? (No, I'm not asking for scientific precision, more along the lines of 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 years.) -
I'm currently running @ 640/1600/900, with no issues.
-
Ok I'm kind of new to this but have done a lot of reading up so feel confident in how I'm doing this.
So far I'm running my GTX 260m at 620/1550/925 still at the standard 1.0v.
I've been running 3DMark06 Shader model 2&3 tests with no faults. GPU heat is around 73C. What I want to know is, is this risky? Should I push my Vs to 1.05v? -

If you want to overclock a bit higher, than switch to 1.05v. Just keep in mind that heat is still the primary factor that shortens the life of GPU's. Overclocking or overvolting won't reduce your card's lifespan as much as high temperatures will. As long as you monitor your GPU temperature and keep it under 88*C, your GPU will last a very long time.
-
Well it's good to know that keeping it under 88*C is a good measure. I'm well within those limits.
I'll carry on pushing this as far as I can go with 1.0v and then consider upping it.
Thanks for the help. -
3dmark06 is a poor judge of stability. You need to run heavy games to find out how safe your clocks actually are.

Very true Kevin. Just got hold of that beta benchmarking tool for Crysis Warhead. Works great and no problems with 620/920/1550 with 1.0v. Temp of my gpu sits at 77*C. Running at full settings with directx 10.
I had pushed it even further to 640/925/1600 and with 3Dmark 06 it was fine. But when I started benchmarking it with Crysis Warhead I ran into a few probs.
