well here are the specs I will be purchasing from xotic pc when i buy a sager laptop also can someone give me the pros and cons of this laptop and can someone give me customers review on because I'm hesitating to buy it and I might buy the alienware 18 instead -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Overclocking the cpu on this model is trickier since the heatsink is comparatively small. 3.8-3.9ghz is achievable with skill for gaming. Note this can be done with a 4810/4910.
-
Unfortunately Slayer, that CPU isn't a great overclocker in this machine.
We have very similar specs (see my sig) and I actually just had my power supply die on me. Get the P570WM, I do *NOT* recommend this machine and will be amending my review about it that I posted in the owner's lounge.
If you want a high performance gaming machine that has little room for enthusiast tweaking out of the box, get an NP9377-S. If you want a machine that is great out of the box but has true enthusiast potential, get a P570WM (Sager NP9570). Avoid the Alienware no matter what, you won't *EVER* get the performance out of that machine that you can coax out of a 9377 or that you can get out of the box on the 9570 due to the way Dell designed it. You'll be wasting a lot of money on that machine.
Now as to the 9377... Here are my thoughts. First off, if you are going to overclock, get two power adapters and make sure that they include the adapter to use two power adapters. The fact I just fried my PSU with a moderate overclock tells me that this system is pushed to the absolute limit and has no headroom. I've been having some stability issues with it stock and figured it was my CPU but now that the adapter blew, I can safely say that its been a power constraint issue the entire time.
They 9570 comes with two adapters (it has to, it has a desktop class CPU). You would do far better getting that system with a 4930K (avoid the X, it performs worse than the K and costs more) than an Alienware. If you can manage the temps and realize the machine has its limits, get the 9377. I would change the CPU to a 4910mq and save the extra money personally... I can get the 4940MX to 3.9GHz on all 4 cores - at a cost of 89C under load which is unacceptable to me. If I undervolt it, it runs between 3.59 and 3.79GHz depending on its load which isn't bad but isn't great compared to Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge CPUs but Haswell sucks, its well known by now.
The 880M chip suffers from throttling. Its being worked on but nothing concrete at this time. From what I've seen, the Dell cards are more problematic than the Clevo cards but there's a very small installed user base. I have cards that perform okay - the 780M still beats it out of the box but its a new chip and may need significant driver optimizations.
Either way, I can't recommend the 9377 at this time. What really sucks? I've had the system for 31 days as of today. :|
Get the 9570 would be my recommendation. I really wish I would have done that because now I'm stuck. -

There is no point putting an mx in the 93xx systems but 3.8-3.9 will give excellent real gaming performance as the GPUs can be tweaked and that is where the large gains are from.
-
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The PSU should cope with a stock configuration, the 93xx can use the dual psu adapter too.
-
It copes with a stock configure but he asked about overclocking. Only way to get 3.9GHz under load is to increase the amperage. Single PSU can't handle that and when you order two PSUs with this machine they don't include the converter box because they say it's not needed.
Seriously the 570 should be the only machine anyone interested in overclocking even thinks about.

I had 3.9ghz cpu with 1ghz 780m GPUs (tweaked for power) running ok.
-
If just for gaming overclocking the CPU is not really necessary. Crysis 3 on Ultra with 2x MSAA @ 1080p gives 50-70 frames depending on level but this is with 4900MQ + 780M SLI bone stock. Turning off AA altogether gives a smooth 60 frames most of the time.
-
Haswell has not impressed me, that's for sure. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Depends on the sample but I had bf4 in the 80s.
-
Thanks for help and I will get the sager 9570 and thanks for help I will post my specs that I will order from xotic pc and thank all of you guys for help -

Hi guys I have a question can I change the gpu to another model like for example if I bought the sager 9570 laptop with nvidia gpu can I change it to AMD radeon gpu and thanks
-
4960X hasn't been overclocking as well as 4930K and you will need different heatsink if you switch to AMD later. Nice build though.
I would recommend Windows 8.1 with that system over Windows 7 but that's up to you.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk -
Thanks but what about the 4920K can it overclock
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The heatsink should work but the pads will need to be altered on it. They also have different x brackets for the heatsink.
-
For gaming, however, there should be little difference between the 3 CPUs as games tend not to be optimized for anything beyond 4 cores and indeed there are still many single and double threaded games out there. -
Ok but I'm know in the middle between choosing the np 9377-s and np 9570 np 9570 has better performance but less storage and thanks Ethrem for great help and fast reply and just out of curiosity can you tell me what games do you play
-
The storage options are different between the two machines and the machine is significantly larger in the 9570 but I'm actually wishing I got the 9570 due to some issues I've been having with my 9377, including heat. -
You got watch dogs for free the promotion in xotic pc right
and also I made my decision to buy the sager 9570 with specs I wrote above and thanks again for help ethrem -
Enjoy your machine, its a beast! Make sure you get the dual power adapters (its a video card option - SLI + additional power adapter and converter box) otherwise you'll max out the system out of the box on just one power adapter. -
Also does the np 9570 have 3d vision
-
Also, its up to you, but I would spring for the full 3 year warranty with accidental damage. It doesn't add a lot of cost to the system but it adds peace of mind.
3D is only available through HDMI or displayport output on either machine. There is a 3D version of the P570WM but I'm not aware of who sells it and honestly, 3D really requires a beefy desktop system to run smoothly. -
Thanks for all the help

hi guys I just have one last question is 4930K overclockable
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It's a fully unlocked product yes.
-
Thanks meaker and what about the 4960x Extreme is it also overclockable
-
Yes it is. Did you read my post with comments on your specs btw?
-
Thanks n=1 I will be ordering these beast by next week
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
All x series products are fully unlocked and have all features enabled.
-
hi guys I have a question how do i overclock 4960X processor in the sager 9570 and also can someone give me a tutorial on how to change graphic cards from nvidia to AMD Radeon
-
If you don't know how to overclock, you really should be messing around with the physical cards. You can easily destroy your machine if you don't know what you're doing. When you are ready to upgrade, contact XOTIC and ask them to do it for you.
As for overclocking, do a search. There are plenty of threads on here about how to use XTU. -
I read about AMD shame they are bad
I saw many bad reviews about them especially with clevo models
and I saw your review it was great it helped me a lot but still the sager np 9377-s is good mabye not for overclocking but good for gaming -
Using XTU, I got my chip up to 3.9GHz yesterday but it hit 91C max which is too close to the throttle at 95C for any practical uses so I usually just use XTU to take 80mV off the core and let it dynamically clock itself. I usually end up with 3.79Ghz doing that with 85C max but if it's a very multithreaded app, the processor will drop down to either 3.59 or 3.69GHz at the same temps.
The nice thing about XTU is if you mess anything up, the system will detect it and reboot. Unless it's the RAM. I wouldn't mess with the RAM settings as that can cause the computer not to POST and you'll have to pull the CMOS battery so I haven't messed with memory at all.

Hi guys I found this thread stating that the Intel i7 4960x can be overclocked to 5.86ghz in this thread Extreme Overclocking, This isnât Your Daddyâs Core i7 - Inside Scoop
-
Dude, they're using liquid nitrogen for cooling, and likely got lucky with the chip.
And why are you going for the most expensive CPU if you've never overclocked before? Does that make any sense? -
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk -
No I didn't order still I will order it but I'm still researching the best and cheapest specs
-
I think I gave some pointers in my past posts no?
-
Oh sorry I forgot about your last posts I have much work lately and I keep forgetting a lot but your post were helpful I will right the specs that I will choose from xotic pc
-
You know you might do best to call their sales team and work out a build with them. They can customize it to your needs and recommend the best parts for you. That might be the best way to go with the build.

I think you need to step back, evaluate exactly what you want the machine for and then proceed forward.
-
Looking at the original config that OP spec'd out, it seems he simply went for the most expensive option in each category.
-
Hi guys I have a question I recently read about mythlogic so I want to know which is better mythlogic or sager also does mythlogic ship outside us or internationally
overclocking in sager 9377-s cpu
