p150em / np9150 dual hard drive AND optical drive

is it possible to run 2 hard drives and an optical,,, ie mSATA SSD / additional SATA HDD / BD-ROM ??? if so, can somebody send me a link to the back/rear schematic or a pic showing/pointing to the drive locations,,, thanks a bunch,

Yes you can have a mSATA, hard drive, and optical drive. mSATA are not 1.8 or 2.5, they are mSATA size you're referring to SSD sizes, they are different.

The hard drive will go in the dedicated hard drive bay, the small one in the middle. You have to open the large panel to get to the mSATA slot, and the Optical bay is where the dvd/cd rom drive is.

 

I'm confused about mSATA,,, I want a 250 gb SSD mSATA,,, is this a 1.8" or 2.5" or ?
not quite sure how this all fits together,,, msata vs 1.8" vs 2.5"???

also can you tell me how to get a "Windows Experience Index" using my gt675 vs the intel hd4000 optimus, (I do not know how to switch over during normal windows operations to re-index),,, my number is a dismal 6.9 and with a 3820qm, 32gb 1600 RAM, and SSD HD, I should be at a higher number,,, thanks Hutsady@XoticPC

 

mSATA dimensions are roughly 1/8 of the size of a 2.5" drive. They do not adhere to the 1.8" nor the 2.5" form factor standard.

As for the WEI, I wouldn't really lean on that, but if you're curious, you can try disabling the Intel graphics within BIOS (if applicable). If it's not available, then WEI defaulting to the Intel GMA may be driver related, from what I've read.

dont think you can get a reading of the intel hd4000

optimus is auto switching so you dont have to do anything. it will use intel until you do something more demanding then auto switch to the nvidia.

if you want to run benches to find out if things are running correctly (everything in sig below) download 3dmark06/vantage/3dmar11/3dmark

OK, I know my nvidia card is working when I play vids or games,,, just wanted to get the WEI to score it,,, and want to know how to switch between them at will, rather than auto,,,

mSATA ,,, we are talking about a Clevo P150em / Sager NP9150 laptop,,, and is the mSATA always an SSD drive,,, I am looking for a 250gb+/- SSD mSATA,,, so there is no size issue? a 256gb SSD mSATA is only one size?

 

Yes, mSATA drives are always SSD. There is no platter mSATA drive available. Also, 256 GB mSATA is high tier when it comes to capacity; the only other drives I've seen that are bigger are the 480 GB EDGE or Axiom drives (and then there's the Pegasus with 256 GB x 2 mSATA drives, but it's an external enclosure that connects via Thunderbolt).

 

same model as ive got and i dont think you can switch yourself. you can change in nvidia control panel for individual things to run with nvidia but thats it.
the wei score you are getting is for your whole laptop and the graphics score will be the nvidia score.

the msata's are all the same size no matter if they are 60gb or 512gb
