I just got a used p150em, got all the bits, just missing a video card.

i assume i could check it worked and boot it up using the intel hd gfx, the logo screen comes up but after a few seconds it beeps again and again..and also crackles randomly.

couldn't access the bios either, F2 didn't work.

this normal for a laptop with no video card installed?

    or is it faulty?

don't want to buy a video card if the machine is junk.

can someone please reply with an answer asap, i gotta go away end of the week and wanted to take the laptop with me. (once i got a video card) but if the machines faulty, i don't want to waste more on a card.

    anyone?

i managed to get in the bios, repasted the cpu, there was way too much paste on it. then the keyboard worked after doing that.

cpu fan still spins up wildly after a few seconds and then loud beeps start that don't stop and random crackling from the speakers.

should i just send it back to the seller?

As far as I know, it doesn´t work unless you install a gpu, however you should be able to get in windows through safe mode (press F8 at start up). You have to have installed windows previously.
You could try some linux usb live to check it
I also have a p150em, but I haven´t seen myself in that trouble.
    Good luck.
