Is there any guides or icc profiles or software or anything to help me calibrate this?
A few months ago I got an access to a proper graphic design display, and noticed just how messed up the colors are on my laptop. Everything is completely blue, and I can't seem to fix it because some area of color is always the wrong hue. Intel HD control panel seemed good at first since I can control brighness/gamma/etc for each color separately, but the adjustments are way too harsh even if you move the sliders by the minimal possible amount. I guess there is a way but it's too difficult for me.
This is the best I can do, it seems pretty good I think, but I'm not a pro.

I am asking myself why I never tried messing with these settings. I have always noticed how blue my screen looks compared to other screens, and with your settings everything looks much better. Hopefully some others could give us advice on the settings.

I can't speak from experience, but I am certain that you will need some reference point to calibrate against. You could follow the steps outlined in the link below, but if you have access to any calibration equipment then that would be the best.

I don't think printing is necessarily that good way to compare, unless you do a professional print on a professional printer, and/or know what you're doing. Inks are by nature much less vibrant than display colors, and the colors can be just as off as your screen is unless you have a good and well set up printer and use the right settings. -

You can use the built in Windows calibration utility. Whether you're within Windows 7 or using Windows 8, just type "calibrate" in the search field.

I think the most accurate calibration method are the spyder calibration tools though. -
Prostar, thank you for letting us know about the Windows calibrator. I had no idea that existed.

Why the hell does this forum keep logging me off, I keep losing all the crap that I type trying to help people.
Not gonna write that again but here's a summary;
I figured we have Spyder 3 Pro at work, gives brown-ish result, but here it is anyway:

I also found this installed on my computer, don't know where it came from but it gives a very good result and I prefer it to spyder:

What do you do with those files, and how do they work?

You use them with the colour profiles manager in windows.

The Spyder calibration tools are the worst. You're far better of with X-Rite products. I always got a yellowish tint from te my spyder 4.

The profile that Tsun and I tried in the Intel settings has too little gamma, taking away from detail in darker areas.
I like the second ICC profile Tsun linked in terms of colors, but it does lack some dark detail that is caused by too little gamma. After raising gamma by .2 in the Intel program this profile looks pretty good.
