I've recently purchased a p150hm from Malibal and am planning to get an SSD as an upgrade. Searching through the net, i've come accross a lot of complaints about SSDs not waking up from sleep. Is this also the case with our p150hm/151hm laptops?

You are most welcome to share your SSD setup here and you experience with waking after sleep to keep track of data.

I'm looking at Crucial M4 120gb or Intel x25-m 160gb as these are readily available at my current location.

The Intel should give you no trouble with anything, it's Intel. I had the 320 at one point, no complaints. Although I was disappointed that not everything was instant. SSDs have a ways to go in terms of performance and capacity vs price

I do not think there should be any problems with major SSDs such as Intel, Crucial and Samsung.

I am waiting my Crucial M4 (shipped yesterday), so I can update you early next week once I install it in my P150HM.

The Intel 320 (SATA II) in my new P150HM has no problems at all. Everything is nice and speedy. :)

    Good news! :)

Has anyone tried Marvell controllers? Like those found in Intel 510 or Crucial m4?

    I appreciate the replies! Thanks!

the intel 510 (120GB) i have, has no problems awaking from sleep / standby. I open the lid or I hit Fn+F4, and it awakes from sleep no different than a HDD or SSHD. Intel's SSDs, while not the fastest outright, tend to be the most reliable from a "failures unit / total units" standpoint. I have an X25-m (G2) in my old sager, and the 510 in my new one, and neither Sager has issued me any problems in storage failure. You're in good hands with an intel / sager combo.
