Hey guys. Quick question. About literally 10 minutes ago I plugged in my head phones and there was like a slight buzzing crackly sound that comes and goes but mostly it is there. I already tried to plug my head phones into other devices to troubleshoot and they seem to be working fine. Then after plugging in other devices into the jack I realized it was happening to every device. Has anyone else ever experienced this or know what the issue might be? I've NEVER had this happen to a laptop before much less a laptop of this calibur. Help plz! Thanks

    -Ian

Also, just to let you know I checked to see if the drivers were up to date and according to windows they are. Also I tried to mute it but the problem persists while muted. Every minute or so it will disappear for like... 5 seconds then start up again. It sounds like a white noise or something I dunno.

Okay, so your headphones WERE working fine but just recently they have a hum or a buzz in the headphones and it is present in every device you plug your headphones into?

If that is how I am reading it, get a different set of headphones. Those that you have now may have just unexpectedly failed or developed such an issue.

instead of using the headphone socket try the mic socket and on popup box click speaker instead of mic and see if you are getting the same sound. if the same try the next socket and click speaker.

its worth a try. i dont use headphones so not sure if this will work but if you plug surround speakers into the 3 sockets they all work.
