    Hi folks
I just had my 6970 gpu die a normal use death. I have a tech who is going to replace a card.
So I am searching hard for a card.
    Dell Alienware M17x R3 M18x R1 DDR5 AMD HD 6990M 2GB Video Card RDRGR MXM 3.0
has shown up for sale and I was wondering if this card is compatible with my p150hm.

You will want to stick with a Clevo card. 99% of other brands won't work.

follow hutsady´s advice, stick to clevo cards up to 7970M and 680M, anything else will have a veeeery high risk of not working in your machine...

    Give or take. :vbtongue:

But seriously: Avoid anything other than a Clevo card for a Clevo machine.

    Clevo GTX 670M
    Clevo GTX 580M/675M
Clevo or MSI GTX 680M with vbios 80.04.29.00.01 (black screen on wake, don't use sleep)
Clevo 7970M hardware version v1.2 with Enduro disabled (pre-flash or blindflash, no hdmi)
    Clevo GTX 485M
    Clevo GTX 560M
    Clevo 6970M and 6990M

    Did I miss anything?

Anyways, pretty much anything besides the 680M and 7970M are toasters. Having gone through 3 GPU on this machine, I gave up and bought a P650SE. You should first bake your card. If it revives the card, start saving money to get something more reliable. The 6990M is why I will never again buy a laptop with a GPU that can cook my breakfast.

pretty much all 4xxM,5xxM,6xxM cards by nvidia and 6xxxM cards by AMD. the rest is also correct, watch out for the stated vbios and hardware revisions

I called Eurocom they have new cards for sale 90 day warranties and pre flashed cards as per model. Saving for card. Most likely nvidia over
    Ati (all toasters inuded)

If you buy the nvidia card you would need to get it with a new X bracket. I recommend the 7970M if it's available, losing hdmi instead of sleep is much easier to deal with.

Alright lets top this off by saying I successfully baked my card back to life, while I search for a new one.

Nice, that will be a temporary fix but enough to keep you going for a little while longer.

7970 card 1.2 is 600 for new card. very similar is the 680 gtx. both are new and come with a 90 day.
I just baked my card to get it back to life and it seems to be working just fine for the mean while.
