I have a np8250-S (p157sm special edition) I bought from Xoticpc back in June. I had them installed windows 7 and I'm wanting to upgrade to windows 8.1. What all is needed to do this? I'm a newb when it comes to computers btw. Is it as simple as just downloading the os? What about drivers and such? Any help would be great, thanks.

Your computer should have come with a drivers disk, let it auto run, and write down the drivers listed and in the order listed. Then follow the order.

It's good to know the order the drivers need to be installed in, yes. If this is just an upgrade, however, then running the installer off the disc isn't necessary - especially since the system and drivers disc was shipped prior to the 8.1 release (in which case there may be no 8.1 drivers on it). You'll need current 8.1 drivers from Sager's site if that is the case.

Yes, I meant just follow the order, don't use them. Hopefully he took it the right way, thanks for clarifying.

Mostly the important one first is chipset followed by VGA (for convenience of having the right res) after that it makes little difference.
