    Hi,

I recently upgraded my Clevo p170hm with a Radeon HD 7970m provided by my reseller.
I love it, and it works like charm if my notebook is plugged in.

    But:
If I try to use it on battery, the image breaks down (sort of a random flickering) as soon as Windows is fully loaded.
However, it does work without driver and if I manage to disable the driver while having these issues, it goes back to normal.
I already installed a replacement card but its the same thing.
I also tried different drivers, at the moment AMD Catalyst 8.981.2.0 12.7 BETA June 26 – 7900 MOD – BenchmarK3D (this one was recommended by my reseller, normally I use stock drivers).

Once I got the following bluescreen after a few minutes of flickering: bluescreen.jpg

I hope someone can help me fixing this issue.

    Thanks,
    fesefu

Could be bad battery, or PS/charging subsystem within notebook. I would contact your reseller for warranty support.

Well, that's possible, but I never got any issues like that with my old NVidia GTX 470m...

    EDIT:
    Some more information:
If I start my system while plugged in and go to battery after it's fully booted, most of the time the image doesn't break down (it's even possible to play some games like Crysis), unless I do something like watching a movie with Windows Media Player.
But it does sometimes go back to normal after ALT+F4.

    EDIT 2:
Forget about what I mentioned before about the sound (already deleted that).

    EDIT 3:
I do get closer: I installed MSI Afterburner and noticed that the Memory Clock goes down to 300MHz when in battery mode.
Now I lowered the Memory Clock to 600MHz while plugged in, opened a video and *BANG* broken image...
