I don't know if it has been tested yet, but I am happy to confirm that it works perfectly!

Congratulations, I think people are saying in optimus systems then it tends to work fairly easily :) It's a great chip pairing for the machine.

    Is a 1060 much faster than a GTX970M?
I was thinking of an upgrade but wasn't sure if my notebook would accept the new card. Thanks for confirming. :)

look at the firestrike scores, it's slightly lower than the 980DT so it'll be way more than the 970M.

Where can i buy a GTX1060 separate? I had a look on ebay, but there wasn't much.
Maybe it's worth more getting a new laptop which already has this videocard. :)

Is there any EU source to buy a GTX 1060 or 1070? I always get US or China sellers which are a problem considering the toll is quite expensive.

Well it should just be VAT plus a small handling fee which the local resellers have to charge anyway.

exacly the issue. The vat in my country are insane and if I find a seller in Europe I can buy without having to pay vat.
To give you an idea to what extend it is:
Lets say u would sell me a GTX 1060 for 570USD, then i'd have to pay another 180USD which would be a total of 750USD for a graphicscard, which simply is to expensive.

FYI VAT is not an option in EU. It is a must and you have to pay it

Finally, I did not receive any evidence that GTX1070 works on P170SM-A :(

Did someone try to install GTX 1060 with Windows 7 and Legacy mode? GTX1070 on my P870DM works only with UEFI, and W7 works only with Legacy.

If I buy goods within EU I do not pay any extra taxes, only when buying from a country outside of the EU. The taxes are already included in the final price, it's basicially the same as if i'd visit the counrty and buy it and go home again. If i'd buy something from china or US i'd have to pay extra tax on the price of the card.

You pay VAT over all goods in EU. Some country has 20% and some other 21%, 22% or 23%. That is included in the prices in EU. When you buy from an extra-EU country, custom officier charges VAT over your goods. So VAT is not an option it is a must

    Edit
For some kind of good you could also pay an import tax
