Just hoping someone can help I know im not a forum member or only just re registered , But looking at posts some arsehole has upset prema that much that his flashs aint around anymore my p170 run a dream after his BIOS upgrades ,

im getting terrible terrible fps in games starts off at 60fps in bf1 for 5 mins then slowly goes down , also im overheating so im going to do the usual repaste cpu gpu at weekend , my cpu is hitting 98 degress spiking everywhere , so I need to undervolt it , my gpu just seems run like an 870 equivalent its really making me pull my hair out , and also having a locked bios and no where to find a prema bios or similar its distressing ,

what can I offer ! how about my MRS she hates me at moment as im constantly trying to fix this

Re-paste and clean, a prema bios will not fix high temps.

If it's too hot it will slow down, fix an anomaly then test again before drawing conclusions.

Prema Bios is not needed in your case. Infact it would make your system far worse. The FPS drops and poor performance are caused by the high temperatures your system is having. Prema Bios lets you overclock more, hence increasing the heat, all it would do is send your notebook to the grave.

I have the same system as you do. I know all it's flaws and cooling is one of them. It also has garbage sound drivers, massively loud fan problems etc. That being said, the stock Bios in our system is actually really decent.

Don't bother, not your notebooks fault.

The game has performance issues, Dice messed up. Your notebook should easily be able to handle 60fps.

also if you plan on getting a new notebook, get an MSI GT 73VR or MSI GT 75. No need to stay with clevo until they understand that their customers shouldn't have to mod their notebook to get the quality what they paid for.

Cheers Danish ! I thought it should handle it 2 , but I can get just about 60fps on bf3 which should be destroying 80fps , I just got to my wits end with it , I can leave this notebook for work or I can get 400 for it I reckon hopefully

in Bf3 you should have around 100FPS.

Guess I can look at it and see whats going on.

For now play BF1 or 3, while playing have HWinfo64 open in the background while starting logging. When done, send me the CSV file here. From there I should be able to figure out whats going on.

You are 3 degrees away from thermal shutdown. You CPU and GPU have thermal throttling flags almost all the time. Repaste is your only logical option now.

As you can see your power draw of the CPU is rather low. Maxed out at 45W, despite that, the thermals are at thermal throttling point and your clocks massively fluctuate, this is caused by improper cooling. You will need to repaste your notebook.

Thermal grizzly or ice diamond would do the trick.

Anything other than IC Diamond doesn't do well with my Clevo. Any paste would work good for a week and then pump out and the temps hir the roof.

With how "not good" old Clevo heatsinks are, IC Diamond is your best bet.

Your thermal paste is fine, I think you might not have used enough, that being said, you need to repaste your graphicscard as well, this one will need ICDiamond tho. Anything else is pointless since the fit is absolute horrible.

Once you repasted your notebook with ICDiamond on GPU and CPU with whatever you like (might as well use ICDiamond for this as well, since it is superior to artic silver 5), send me a private message. I can show you how to get proper control of your CPU.

IC Diamond 7 or Gelid Extreme for poor fitting laptop coolers.

What was your GPU/CPU frequency/usage? If clocks are maintaining and usage is consistent then it's at the limit of the hardware.

your clockspeeds are now good, same goes for thermals.

However, I need to ask, what NVIDIA driver are you on?? Watch the video to understand what Ngreedia has done.

Every generation people claim Nvidia gimp the performance, but the benchmarks tend to find that's false, yes the new cards pull ahead over time but they have room to be tuned as new architectures.
