    i am having trouble with my laptop screen.
    screen is black but external hdmi works any clues
    i just installed a 290x amd card

    - Have you tried using the display function key to switch between all screen profiles.
    - Sometimes, normally means a dead back light. try turning it on and shining a bright light into the screen if there's an image, if yes that's mean the backlight is gone.
    - If not then its likely the connector between the screen and the motherboard. they tend to break at the bazel, check the cable between the MB and the screen, sometime it's a faulty screen, or compatibility issue with your screen and the 290x.

    replaced screen plus cable now it flickers 2 times then off it goes as in screen

    You need to use this flashing tool then use it under windows when it's loaded. Since you can see on an external monitor this should be no problem.

    Load the rom, install it and if you're lucky you suddenly get a screen.

    i got a used gfx card from ebay works can see screen now now time to screeeeeeeeam bought new screen screen cable oh well
