    hi everybody!

    I have this weird "problem": everytime I want to watch a movie on my HS-g machine on an external screen - the laptop sends the signal using Nvidia GPU, while I would surely benefit from using Igfx for battery life and also I find Intel decoding much smother for the frame rates and sync.

    any way to overcome that?

    @XMG @Meaker@Sager @Prema ? anyone?

    The external outputs are connected directly to the dGPU. Nothing you can do about it.

    That and G-sync for display ports. The idea is if you are plugging a monitor in then you can plug in the notebook.

    yeah, but it could have a switch for Optimus mode, a small 15" is nice to take around and use on battery for various tasks.

    I mean... Dell, Msi been there, so why not?

    Also igfx is nice for movies, like i said - it makes a better frame rate conversion for fluid movement, especially for Interpolation TVs

    Each extra display MUX takes more PCB space and adds cost/complexity to the setup.

    Note the machine does have optimus on the internal display.

    That would behave just like an external display.

    With a delay the OP seems particularly sensitive to.

    I'm about to order a P650HS-G... thanks for confirming the external display output connection.
