Hi everyone, this is the second thread I've made when it comes to fans on this machine.

Here's the original thread where I first encountered the problems and what I have done to try and solve it:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/help-with-p650rs-g-fans.805030/

Long story short, I ended up switching to MSHybrid which literally solved all my problems... For about two weeks.

Now, I woke up today, turned on my machine, and basically everything is wrong with it again.

The fans are acting like they are back in Discrete. Fans turned up even in idle.

What I have tried doing : switching power modes, going between fan speeds, resetting back to Discrete and MSHybrid.

Fans are still loud, I have no idea why. The only changes I have done between last night and this morning, is that last night, I had played LoL longer than I have in a while. But why should that change fan stuff...

Honestly, this is getting pretty ridiculous now, I spend 2 weeks trying to fix the problem, 2 weeks of perfection, and now it's back seemingly out of nowhere.

Here are my Bios and EC respectively, should I upgrade, will that do any help?

    1.05.05.TEU / 1.05.03

I'm seriously desperate to fix this problem, I thought I had it solved, and it was solved until it wasn't.

    Thanks all.

It might. See if you can obtain 1.05.05 for the EC on your machine, and 1.05.07 for the BIOS from your reseller (or whichever revision they may have).

Thanks, I recently just flashed to 1.05.05 for my EC... Still fan problems persist, will upgrading BIOS do anything?

Doing a clean windows install is the last thing I want to do, especially if it won't do anything, but I'm getting desperate and may just have to. It's getting quite ridiculous.

Probably not, but it won't hurt to try. The fan profile is determined by the EC.

Did you flash the ME firmware as well? Usually flashing that, but not the BIOS, causes the fans to go crazy until the BIOS is updated.

Sorry, what is the ME? I'm not sure what that is. If that's the management engine, no I have not.

So currently I'm using Obsidian Tools, and you said flash the ME. Isn't it as simple as doing a download, or am I incorrect? I currently need to update it, but if you said that I need to update the BIOS first, I do not want to flash or download it yet.

And well doing a clean install was not bad. Fans are tolerable. Still not satisfied though, literally not sure what happened. Currently using EC 1.05.05 and Clevo Control Center 5.0001.1.27, which is according to @Eurocom Support, the latest one. I'm not to sure as the obsidian app has another version, but that version wasn't working well either.

Well, I'm not sure if these numbers mean anything to you, but on idle right now my fan speed is set to automatic power conservation is set to balance and the back fan is reaching a level of about 30-35db.

For comparison, if I switch to Custom, I reach levels of about 25-26db. Another problem that may or may no be Clevo Control Panel's fault is that Custom, i'm pretty sure simply does not work... If I throw on custom, I can see that my computer's cpu + gpu temp just keep rising...

Before all my fan problems, fan speed of automatic used to have custom decibel levels, unless of course I did something heavier. I am using the app called Sound Meter for reference.

Yes, it is the management engine - you have firmware for it that can be flashed, as well as a driver for it. Typically, when you update the EC and BIOS, the ME should be updated also. Firmware updates usually come from your reseller upon request, not via public downloads.

Since your BIOS and EC appear current, though, I would imagine your ME is also. You might have to get a second opinion from your seller via RMA and then go from there if a fix is needed.
