    Hi all,

was considering buying the above laptop, and was wondering if anyone had any more reviews regarding it, especially when it came to temps as there seems to be a lack of them anywhere on the net. The best one seems to be from gentech.

Also could anyone recommend a stand/cooling stand to help with temps as I know it's quite a thin unit. The base of the laptop seems to be one big vent

It would be preferable if it was quiet and small...Or are cooling stands pointless, and I should just get a regular stand which propped it up? My room tends to collect a lot of dust, and my current clevo (w860cu) vents are plagued by dust blocking the 2 small vents, so I'd rather not take too many risks with this new laptop.

    Thanks!

    Hi there :)

Firstly, you don'y need to worry about the temps too much unless you dont want to undervolt the CPU. I undervolt mine by 134mv (YMMV) and temps stay around the mid 70s when typical gaming and the mid 80s when something CPU intensive is going on. The GPU on the otherhand isnt quite as good and generally hovers around the high 70s to high 80s depending on the load.

There is no need for a cooling pad unless you really want one, and if you do, I'd recommend the Coolermaster U3 and place the fans just below where the laptops fans are located; even then, its not going to chance CPU and GPU temps much. You're better off raising the back using bottlecaps.
