hi! I am experiencing severe throttling and lock on 1468mhz on all pa70 models incl pa70hp6-g and pa71hp6-g
the issue arises when GPU hits 72-76C or so(always random) and the GPU frequencies gets caped at 1468Mhz and never goes beyond that until reboot!
@Prema @Meaker@Sager @XMG, can you make any input on this issue?
it also occurs more often and faster with newer Nvidia drivers, the supplied DVD drivers seems to do it really rarely.

I had that problem in the past with an early GTX880m and sometimes it would get stuck at low clocks till you do a driver reinstall or a vBios re-flashing ... The funny thing is that this was fixed in a certain Nvidia driver update and never happened ever since. Try changing drivers across drivers families and see if the problem persists. -

I think I have found the reason for this problem, though it's a manufacturer's fault, there seems to be a workaround! I will keep this updated soon.MahmoudDewy likes this. -
What have you figured out?
I changed my Nvidia 3D Power Settings from Optimal Power to Maximum Performance, and that fixed it regardless of temps. But, then it randomly reverted back to 1468mhz again. Restarted and it was back to 1873mhz. -

I have found that building an MSI afterburner curve, to make the card consume 119watt help with clocks
the lock to 1458 Is not random, I have figured there are 2 triggers for this: temperature higher than 72C and 121watt power draw at the same time! -
Just reinstalled Windows and currently using the auto-installed driver by Windows. See my post here. Me and @BrinNutz has been investigating this problem in that thread

that only helps for a while. I've made a custom MSI afterburner profiles and I can now got above 78C without throttling. -
Would you mind sharing the afterburner curve profile?

I can, but it's really individual.
best thing you can do is to open HWINFO64 and monitor your cards TDP, build the curve so it never exceeds 120watt for gtx 1070, maybe 119 even better!Last edited: Jan 16, 2018 -
and you can't check because the tool doesn't work with it?

I did actually check, the vbios is rated at 125watt! while the BIOS is locked at 120. I think this is causing the issue. -
Drop off the 1070 to 115W maybe? That might prevent it from tripping I guess.
I dunno why it would be set this way. glad i didn't buy this model as a replacement.

I have actually tried flashing p650rs-g vbios to it and no good results. there is something more to it -

the model is indeed RAW! but it has some potential to it. -
Hello all!
Can anybody upload vBios 86.04.6E.00.0A or 86.04.6E.00.09 for Nvidia 1070 please ??
You can use this tool for vBios backup.
Thank you
pa70hs-g pa71hs-g and hp6-g are locked to 1468mhz
