    i was wondering its possible to have 2 partitionz in a raid 0 setup...

    i tried booting up with vista 64bit cd.. and there is no option to create a new partition on the hard drive...

    can someone help pleaz i feel like such a newb

    okay i know what raid is...... i have a Raid 0 setup on with my 2 160 gb sata's... i was wondering if it was possible to have 2 partitions in raid 0 because it uses both hard drives as "one"(i know what im talking about here)... so instead of someone explaining to me the acronyms please help answer my question...

    You should ask your questions more clearly.

    Yes you can create partitions in a RAID 0 setup. The system treats the 2 HDDs as one when it comes to partitioning.

    I partitioned mine when I ordered with no OS. I just created partitions with my windows CD ( I used XP to create partitions. ) if you already have an OS installed, then you will have to delete that partition, including losing all your data, and then you can create partitions.

    Or, you can try some different programs that will partition it for you without having to format everything, although I never use these programs.

    You can partition a raid setup in any way you wish.

    When booting Vista x64, you will need to give the OS loader the RIAD level drivers for the RAID controller. There is likely to also be a standalone SATA drive, and an SHCI drive, as well. Select the RAID driver, and after the OS loader loads the driver, you should be able to tell it that you want the advanced options, and from there, you create new partitions, and format them, with the final step being that you select a partition to install the operating system to.
