thanks all! for some reason, the gold looks more yellowish in all the pics...but it's a perfect lighter version of the gold in the Alphaville Orb in the center of the mural...

no worries Ash...given that I have kids, I had to keep it somewhat tasteful, so I went w/ Alphaville's website design!

well, for an extra bit of cash, an extra 30% or so will, in the end, be worth it as long as i can keep my gaming resos up at 1920x1200...Ultimately, it depends on what you have, what you need and what you're willing to give up for a bit of extra GPU power!

haquocdong, I'm not sure as my desktop (AW 5100 quad core flagship) won't arrive for a couple weeks yet...what I will tell you that it is a BEAST power wise and I haven't had a hiccup yet short of the usual 2.0 webcam issues (inherent to a driver incompatibility, not the machine). I know that's not as in depth as you wanted and I'll be able to give a better comparison when my alien desktop arrives...

I will say that this is the most powerful laptop i've ever seen...

pat, thanks for the quick reply.
I know it's strong but I just want to make a compare for personal experience :)
Can you please answer my question again when your desktop arrive? I really appreciate it! :D (by message or I will check this topic again!)

A quick note, my second 8800 GTX came today...the installation problem courtesy of Xotic/Sager was a BREEZE! one hiccup, where I forgot to reset my boot priority back to hard drives first...the only thing that went wrong...I did NOT have to reactivate Vista, so that was a help (I called Microsoft during my re-configuring the boot sector, so who knows, maybe they reactivated it for me but I doubt that !!! ). Anyhow, easy as pie and working like a dream! I'll post a 3Dmark06 benchy here shortly!

    later,
    pat!

I would like to see CoD4 benches with 1 card vs SLi on the 9262 at different resolutions. I think I should be getting slightly better performance with my single 8800M gtx on default drivers.

I thought a BIOS update was required in order for the SLI to work.

I did indeed do the BIOS update...what i was referencing is that AFTER I did the BIOS update, I didn't need to re-activate Vista Ultimate...

EDIT: 3DMark Basic wouldn't let me test in my native 1920x1200 reso, so the results would be useless...damn!

dazzyd, the SLi set-up was a breeze. Easiest thing in the world, really, besides drinking a good beer :) . The directions I got were simple and straight forward...just have the right tools (small phillips head obviously, a padded surface and lil' ol' plyers to get those damn screws back in). The ONLY thing I'll say is remember to reset your boot order after updating the bios w/ the disc! I forgot and it's the only hiccup I had....The SLi is working great now, I've noticed no oddities with it in place and Vista is great in that it prompts you when you first turn your machine on to 'activitate' SLi because it notices that you've got it installed and available!
