I've been enjoying my m570tu for a bit now, and I decided to show it off to my friends via CPUz to my surprise, instead of the P9500 I ordered, a T9400 was displayed. After contacting justin of xoticpc, it seems like the device manager read it properly as P9500. Furthermore, my clock speed was a measly 1.5ghz which is the speed when running in silent mode, but I was in normal and I tried switching between them multiple times with no change. Even when I'm playing spore, the speed remains at 1.5. Does anyone else have these two issues?

Yes
The only time I have that issue is when my power profile in Vista is set to Power Saver. It locks the CPU down to 50% power, and CPU-Z reports it as 1.5GHz. Make sure you are running in High Performance mode. Check the advanced power settings on it too and make sure the CPU is allowed up to 100%. -
Hm... yeah, that might have been the problem as I was in a custom setting. Now that I cleared that up, CPUz is alternating between 2.5ghz and 1.5ghz on normal mode, spending most of the time on 1.5. Isn't it bad if it was changes clock speed so often?

Nope. Its not directly changing the frequencies at all. Its the multiplier and the voltages that are being changed. This is Intel Speed Step technology, and Vista was designed around that tech to give you the best power savings and it actually helps extend the life of your system. This is perfectly normal and a good thing.

Yeah, I thought iwas weird that the multiplier and frequency weren't changing. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
permanently underclocked due to silient mode?
