wrong, the HDMI is for output only. for hooking PS3 on your laptop, you will need a TV tuner, which will bring you tons of lag during gaming.

No there isn't HDMI input, it's output only. You'd need a TV tuner to hook up a game console, and I wouldn't put bets on anything running in any resolution over 480p.

You can use DScaler which is a program that supposedly bypasses much of the lag.

All I did was answer his questions:

Is their a hdmi input port?
    can i hook m860tu to a external monitor>?

Both are a yes. How am I wrong?

EDIT: I see, you thought I answered the PS3 question that was in the thread title. I was only answering the questions in the post (hence both which equals 2 not 3).

@afitzwater, he only asked two questions, not three.
the first one: Is their a hdmi input port?
the second one: can i hook m860tu to a external monitor>?
You said yes to both, which is wrong. m860tu doesn't has HDMI input.
the PS3 was included in his first question, which I think he deleted.

    as you said it yourself:
your answer had suggested that he only asked 2 questions as well.

^ m860tu has an HDMI output to connect to an external monitor, not an input. As stated previously, in order to hook up a PS3 to a computer, you need a TV tuner, most of which won't give you 720p or 1080p. Lag is also a problem with some (although my eVGA inDtube works fine with my Gamecube).

Ugh, no. The Gamebridge is the lowest quality TV tuner you can get for the price, and apparently it also lags. Read some of the more critical reviews for it. They aren't kind.

I figure the best bet is a decent TV tuner and DScaler.

That's rather tragic. The review spoke rather favorably of it. That's okay though. I'm not a console gamer. Thanks for the headsup though :p
