the 160gig 7200rpm used to be the seagate momentus model found in my profile. now the 160 gig 7200rpm is only offered from hitachi.

does anyone know why? i dont want to find out that my seagate mometus model is defective or known to cause troubles so they switched to hitachi or something =\

They usually switch due to supply demands...i.e. not being able to get enough of a supply. Don't sweat it..you have a good HDD.

Hitachi and Seagate are both very good manufacturers of harddrives, i've never had any problems with either of them (for my desktops that is).
