    Hello all,
i recently sent my Asus G73Jh to RMA and the techs said that they couldnt fix my laptop so the reseller is giving my money back to me. Now im trying to decide wich laptop to buy and came across Sager... they too had the 5870m and very good specs. But later as i was thinking about it, i just figured that it would be better for me just to wait for a laptop with a HD 6870m but i think that would take a very long time. So my question is weather the 5870m could be switched for a 6870m in the future... possibly the CPU too for a sandybridge architecture one.

While it will be possible to upgrade the GPU, you'd still need a modified heat sink and BIOS support (the later is very hard to get). The CPU won't be upgradeable
to Sandy Bridge, you'll need a new mobo.
If you're not in a rush - wait 3 months. Otherwise - get what you need now and enjoy the system, it won't perform much worse than SB anyway.

well im certainly not in a rush but it would be nice to be able to game again :D ... currently im using an ancient Acer and it is a hell of pain let me tell you that :p so i think ill take your advice and wait for a few months for a next-gen system... if nobody else has any insights that is...
