So i bought it, all well, put my ssds in, everything is fantastic :) however, i need help with power management as native windows one is awkward. Used to like my alienware command center, as i could switch profiles easily and have more customization, as windows offers rather little.

I'm on windows 7, got linux too but don't need power management for that.

Essentially, different presents for plugged-in and battery, plus a profile for when im just skyping/playing minecraft so fan doesn't go greyhound off the handle every few minutes, as its spring and it is getting on my nerves now that ambient temperature is up...

any good software for this sort of this from clevo? haven't noticed anything at downloads there...

Just create custom power plans. Should be enough for what you need. You can also use Powercfg if you want something more complex.
Technically nothing stops the AW software from running on the Clevo. It's using the same OS interface anyway. In reality Dell may deliberately limit its function to Dell branded machines.

Under Linux I just add desktop files or menu shortcuts for my power plan scripts.

You might want to change your desktop background or GUI theme to remind you which plan you're using.

You can edit the stock ones too. As usual you have to dig a bit but you can do a bit.

so nothing better than the windows one? more in depth? say disabling turbo boost etc. putting in on power saver in windows does help it from going full on leafblower on me, but it's still not ideal since even minecraft lags...the plain windows one is a bit awkward to use too.

There aren't many third party applications for Windows power plans, and the few that exist don't seem to be any good. This program appears to be one of the better ones, but it really is only a sort of addendum to the existing Windows schemes and not like your Alienware utility.

Alright, appreciate it. Shame since its a fairly useful thing, since windows one is fairly awkward...

Disabling turbo will likely increase power consumption on average for desktop use as completing a task quickly and then idling is more efficient than doing a task slowly.

Downloaded it now, it won't display volume or any of the notifications in the top corner anymore darn. How do I access that clevo control panel? Saw some Screenshots, looks reasonable?

It should auto-start...but it's made for Win 8.x...maybe it helps to install/run it in Win 7 compatibility mode...

    Its in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hotkey/ControlCenter.exe
