suddenly when i was playing WC3 dota my screen went black and a system tray pop-up came out saying that the graphics card has stopped.

i searched online and told the fix was to turn off the Link State Power Management on the power options under PCI express. I did that and it hasn't come up but...

what is this actually telling me? is the graphics card actually failing?
I was using the charger and I always plug the charger in when im using the laptop.

I have a NP8130 from malibal. and i use balanced mode when using the laptop and onnly use that.

EDIT : When i use charger... the problem happens again... idk why this suddenly happens...wow. What is the problem here?

Edit 2: i updated to the latests driver 295.73 by doing a clean install through the installation file. it worked out pretty well. i dont know if i need 3D vision driver for Np8130 but i still installed it. Should i delete that? i dont need it right? Everything is working good now even with the charger plugged in

Another question, I have GTX560M and while running dota 2 do i need to increase the fan speed by using alt+1? idk if playing dota 2 and then going to dota 1 caused this problem but... it scared the **** out of me...

i would change it to high performance while playing games. not sure how the balanced setting works out as never used it before.
its most probably the graphics card driver that had stopped working.

The symptoms you listed are related to drivers 99% of the time. If your update to 295.73 seems to have fixed it, then it sounds like that was the case. You can leave the 3D Vision driver installed, it won't hurt anything (and it doesn't take up that much room anyway). If you want to uninstall it, that's up to you.

The hotkey to go to max fan speed is FN + 1. Download and run HWmonitor and check your temperatures on the GPU. If they start going over 85C, then feel free to run max fans, but the 560m doesn't generally run that warm. Auto fan speeds tend to be pretty decent anyway.

when the problem occurred there was a pop-up
    [IMG]

i had this laptop for like 3 months now...replaced harddrive w/in 3weeks after getting the laptop... and this happened yesterday. so i had this laptop w/ new hard drive for like 2~3 months... and the problem happened yesterday.

does that mean the driver suddenly just failed? how can the driver just fail all of a sudden?

Yes, that's the error I was referring to. It's almost always driver related. It can be from a game with poor coding (which is especially true if you've never noticed it on other games) or a software conflict with something else that's running. It's sometimes hard drive related, but only if the drive itself is failing and there are usually other symptoms of that.
