why, in my sager np8662, does whenever i shut my computer down, powerbiosserver (the program that controls the three hot keys near the power switch) record a critical stop error... or is there something more than just that I should be worrying about that is causing this behavior.
Also, I have noticed that MSE is causing windows explorer crashes in windows 7 and when I had vista, vista as well. Is anyone else getting this?
Any help would be appreciated

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling powerbiosserver (I'd also uninstall MSE if Windows will let you, and either reinstall it or replace it with something better).
If the reinstall does not fix the error, you may want to test your RAM. Check the link to Orev's Memtest guide in my signature for a GREAT guide to using memtest86 for testing your RAM. If the notebook is still under warranty, Sager can cross-ship small components like RAM and Hard Drive with no trouble at all if you request it - that way you keep the notebook in your hands.
Out of curiosity, when you installed Win7, was it a clean install, or was it an upgrade from Vista? If it wasn't a clean install and your RAM checks out fine, you may want to reinstall clean.
