hey!
jus wanted to know, is there a difference in performance between these two processors:
Intel T8300 Core 2 Duo Mobile 3MB Cache Dual Core Processor - 2.4
Intel T9300 Core 2 Duo Mobile 6MB Cache Dual Core Processor - 2.5
because the price difference is around £200...so jus wanted to know whether the extra cache and hertz would make a marginal performance difference enough to justify spending that extra money on it??
hope this is a legal question greg!
haha
-
I'd say it isn't worth it.
-
hell no..
unless you use super CPU intensive tasks, even then the difference is in seconds. -
I'll third the no.. unless the price difference in under $20.
-
oh ok! thanks guys! yerr i didnt think it was worth the extra....so u think games like crysis wont really show a difference in fps??
-
You're more limited by your gpu than your cpu in those games, so there will be little, if any, difference there.
-
I'd say yes, but only because I spend money on computers like I have a money tree in my backyard. (for all you know I might actually have one ;-))
EDIT:
-
Yes, but not 200 pounds yes (you can buy the actual processor on newegg for 315). Its not worth it at that price.

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Not worth the price.
-
Definitely NOT WORTH 200 pounds.
-
What about for Autodesk Applications, do the MB's and slight mhz clock effect its performance?
PS (yes I know Quadros effect the results more) -
oh woops....haha ok..slight error...it includes a blu ray drive with it as well for the extra 200....now im a little tempted...arrghh! sorry bout that!! i did wonder why the price was so high for a small extra!

Like they said, the performance difference is negligible, the only true difference with the chip is the 45nm die vs 65nm, which saves a bit of battery power and creates a bit less heat.
-
If the BD drive is included for the extra 200 then yes its worth it
