will this work with the np8662?
http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2927
i think it has the same output - 20V and 6A, and is 95W with 150W peak. is that enough power and does anyone know if any of the connectors fit? it doesnt list sager but there is a connector that looks close, the number 5 one.

Is there something wrong with the power supply that came with your NP8662?
-
no, i just wanted something smaller and lighter because i travel so much. and the cooler master one has a wrap around for the power cord. now when i put this one in my bag, it gets tangled with the mouse cord. i know i could use a rubber band or something to keep them separated, i just never have.

Yeah, the power supply is a beast. Of course some are bigger, but this one is pretty dam big.

im about to go for a netbook for traveling, but the one i want is the asus with the 9300m in it, but $700 is alot to pay for what you get and the screen is still 1024x600 instead of the newer ones going to 1366x768. -
As for the Power Supply, It's slightly smaller than what I used for my XPS m1710 and has a slightly lower power rating (150w for the xps vs 120w for the np8662) and it's not as heavy, or as hot. It is larger tha average, so if you want to bring the PSU along, make sure that you have an ample sized bag (use a 17' case if need be...the laptop alone is almost as big profile-wise as a 17") and you don't let the PSU touch any extra batteries you may have. As for the PSU of an np8662 being a monster... there is nothing as large as the PSU for the np9280 or np9850... and if someone with either of these PSUs for the aforementioned sagers could show the size of THOSE psu's next to a cola can, I think it'd give the OP a better frame of reference.

so if no one has tried one of the sna 95s yet, then i might be the first to try it and see if the connectors fit.
but what about the power? the sna 95 says its 95W with 150W peak. is that enough for the 120W for the np8662? im guessing the np8662 is 120W at peak and not all the time?
and ganzonomy, you about have me sold on the n10jh. i know it wont play recent games, but i could play older games at ow resolution. -
nope, at 20V its giving 4.7A. It would charge your battery, but your system would not be running at 100% while gaming.
the 8662 needs 6A at 20v
I tried this slim kensington adapter:
http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3522&review=Kensington+Power+Adapter
which maxes out at 20v 6A. It was fine if you weren't gaming, but when you did game, it would get EXTREMELY hot and it could actually make an loud (for something thats not supposed to make any noise) clicky noise. It was nice for the size, but I returned it because I felt that it could be a bit dangerours. (catch on fire or something)
question about power supply - np8662 + sna 95
