    hello guys. i have a x7200 since nov 2010 with 480gtx m sli and i 950 cpu. now, the 485gtx sli is available and i want to upgrade. do i have to buy new cards or should i just upgrade it to the retailer i bought it from?

    i would of thought 480sli would be fast enough unless money is no object to you as they wont come cheap.
    why not wait for a year and then upgrade to even faster cards cos i dont think you will see much difference even though they are faster.

    Even if they fit they might not be supported by the X7200's BIOS.

    but let's say, most retailers offer 580m gtx in the future for the x7200, can it upgrade my x7200 as well using the i950 cpu?

    yes it should be possible. those gpus are user upgradeable.

    go7950gtx-8800mgtx-9800mgtx-gtx280m
    but the last gtx280m cant SLI and have to use modded inf to install vga driver

    Some resellers are already offering x7200 with 485m SLI. The teoretical Processing Power (GFLOPS) of 485 is about 1.45 of 480m, but it will cost a lots of money. Check the site of the Origin reseller.
