hello guys. i have a x7200 since nov 2010 with 480gtx m sli and i 950 cpu. now, the 485gtx sli is available and i want to upgrade. do i have to buy new cards or should i just upgrade it to the retailer i bought it from?
-
i would of thought 480sli would be fast enough unless money is no object to you as they wont come cheap.
why not wait for a year and then upgrade to even faster cards cos i dont think you will see much difference even though they are faster. -
true.i just hope the future cards(sli) can fit the the x7200
-
Even if they fit they might not be supported by the X7200's BIOS.
-
but let's say, most retailers offer 580m gtx in the future for the x7200, can it upgrade my x7200 as well using the i950 cpu?
-
yes it should be possible. those gpus are user upgradeable.
-
maybe............
d900c for example
go7950gtx-8800mgtx-9800mgtx-gtx280m
but the last gtx280m cant SLI and have to use modded inf to install vga driver -
Some resellers are already offering x7200 with 485m SLI. The teoretical Processing Power (GFLOPS) of 485 is about 1.45 of 480m, but it will cost a lots of money. Check the site of the Origin reseller.
