if a user does not oc this unit and plays high sli games like crysis, would it destroy or cause issues on the laptop?
i heard there are issues on the psu for this...

Generally, systems like Clevo X7200 are built with extreme gaming and OC'ing in mind. The cooling is great (one of the best, if not the very best) and should handle long gaming sessions.
This doesn't mean that you can play obliviously ignoring simple rules:
* Make sure nothing is obstructing the vents (don't put the laptop on a bed or any uneven surface).
** Always monitor the temps (don't let the CPU/GPU hit 90C+)
*** Clean the system from dust periodically.
**** Re-pasting the CPU/GPU can help to reduce temps by a few degrees. I recommend it only if your load temps often reach 85-90C+. Otherwise, don't bother.
PSU issue is being fixed by Clevo. I'd wait till it's resolved before buying the beast. -
any eta on when it will be fixed? -
One month if they are really, really fast.

well,i just want to get it for gaming on max settings and web surfing however im not planning to do both at the same time.it wouldnt stress the psu now would it?
-
Of course not. 99.9% of the current games will not trip the PSU.
Only if you're into OC'ing and benching - stressing all CPU cores with Prime95 and both cards with Furmark - should be dangerous. -
thanks for the reply.im getting the x7200 then.thanks bro...

I understand that this kind of stress does not appear during the gaming, but what about when doing work. Besides what is the point of buying laptop which can be overclocked but not be allowed to use it at max, even if that is happening not so often. Would someone buy a race car which turns itself off when it is at the max speed?
question about x7200
