They're not the same machine - the Clevo M570U, which is the Sager, cannot have two hard drives in a RAID configuration, it only has one dedicated internal drive. The drive that can be put in the modular bay can't be used in RAID 0.
As far as price/performance goes, the Sager is a much better deal. The Alienware is priced pretty high; you could get a fully spec'd out Sager NP5760 with a Go7900GTX for that.

Processor - Alienware has not factored in Intel's price drops on the Core Duo yet, notice how much cheaper the upgrades are on the NP5750.

Alienware = pay an extra $1000 for a fancy paint job and a logo = ripoff.

I have to agree--Alienwares are very expensive. From what I've seen, you can't beat Sager for performance-to-price ratio.

Some ASUS models are also good for that, but only if you want mid-range performance.

I mean its a clevo, it looks the same. its the special alienware version of the same thing with 2 hds?

or alienware can modify it itself.

It is the same computer...period. Both will accept 2 hard drives and have exactly the same features except...the Alienware LCD cover and you get a black T-Shirt...oh, and of course their infamous customer service.

Yes...I can attest to a friend who purchased from alienware and had to experiance there TERRIBLE customer support. Ouch. Wouldn't buy from them, ever, after hearing his horror story.

apples and oranges. I thought it was the same thing because it came out the same time as the new sager came out but its actually something different

i mean it is actually worth a lot more with its x1800

I'm surprised that ATI is pushing its X1800 in the notebook market. It's probably only because they have nothing else to offer at the moment. On the desktop, the X1800 series has already been phased out and is being replaced very quickly by the X1900 series. Right now the remaining X1800 cards are being sold off for cheap. Hopefully there will be a mobile variant of the X1900 soon.
