Since the 9750 has 4 slots for ram, would I be able to add another 1gig ram card abd have 3 gigs of ram for it? Or even, ad 2 more gig ram cards and have 4 gigs?

Dimmu,
are u sure it has 4 slots?? I have the same model, it only has 2 slots. The 9890 model of the same chassis (Intel P4 based) has 4 slots.
I believe that you might be mistaken... unless if Clevo has a new motherboard for the D900K notebooks.
In any case, I have 2 gigs total (2 x 1gb) of Kingston DDR400 CL2.5

Gophn is correct, the 9750 has only 2 Ram slots capable of up to 2GB. You could be mistaken with the 9890 which has 4 slots? -

CPU-Z reads the 9750 as having four slots oddly enough.

Yeah at discount laptops it says there are 4 slots.
Oh well. Maybe in the future when it's more necessary there will be 2gb sticks. <_<
I thought the only differences between 9890 and 9750 was the processors? Why would 9890 have 4 and 9750 only 2 slots? -

The 9750/9890 have the same shells but completely different motherboards/chipsets. -
its the chipset limitations, i think.
or it can be that Clevo understands the problem with having ram get past the 2.3gb threshold, which would cause problems with current software (ie. Windows)
ram for 9750
