I've been reading some more reviews today and looking at some more benchmarks when I realized something. I'm getting ready to buy a Clevo/Sager to replace my desktop that I built myself almost 4yrs ago and am now giving to my kids to support their WoW addiction. I spent over $3500 building my desktop with a Q6600, dual 8800GT's in SLI, cpu and gpu's overclocked, etc, etc, and it gets about 18,000 in 3dMark06 and almost throws out my back whenever I try to move it. I'll be spending about the same or a little less this time and replace it with a small 17" laptop that I can carry around one handed and is capable of scoring roughly 20k+ in 3dMark06. Even though I work in IT and am around this stuff 24/7, the technology advancements still amaze me sometimes.

    what

are we talking small compared to your desktop or something? I think few people would call a 17" small.

it's tiny compared to a typical higher end 24" gaming lcd.

If you want to save a little money, post your build and ask for advice.
Typical advice for gaming is to get a high end GPU with a lower end CPU
