Has someone tried connecting the DVI to their TV and testing the 1080p connection (with a 1080p source - wmvhd or something)? Any issues?
Can you buy an aftermarket HD DVD or bluray drive for these that is compatible?
How are you connecting audio then, SPDIF? Does that pass the 5.1 audio?
How do you rate the keyboard/touchpad (since i'll probably never be able to try this prior to buying one)?

I haven't tried the DVI at this point. Yes you can get HD/Blue ray drives if you like. Currently I use 3.5mm jacks for my 5.1 and this works well. SPDIF works as well. I really like the keyboard, it one of the few in a laptop that I do like I would rate it high quality with good feed back. The touch pad seems ok but to me is sluggish (I have not played with the adjustments for it yet). I am not found of the buttons for the touchpad at all. They are very functional and work just fine I just don't care for them.

I have. Works brilliantly
For audio, you need a different cable, there is a thread started by me somewhere about this exact same thing. But I don`t bother, i have very poweful Altec Lansing speakers and set them next to the TV. -
Couldn't find that thread, what kind of cable? Is it digital or analog?
How about the fan noise, saw a review that said it was pretty loud? I currently have the worlds loudest desktop (cyberpower pc built) which can annoy me pretty bad. -
The GPU fan is somewhat louder than your average Laptop, but this is a DTR.
The fans are awesome, my GPU temp is from 42 to 57 under heavy gaming (crysis) .Just to get an idea...the cooling system in this laptop is top-notch!
About the cable, it was a standard S-video cable :

All med,1024x768. But on some levels I have to go low on shaders and shadows (there is an Ice level and the Core level) to get above 30 fps.(I`m a fps freak, anything below 25 doesn`t do for me). However, due to the heavy postprocessing done on the image and the image blurr, Crysis can be played at 20+ fps.

Quick question for paladin if you don't mind, wildmilne.
I've noticed on some sites (e.g. sagernotebook.com) that the np5792 comes in two colors, the orange finish and the silver finish. I've never seen the silver version being offered anywhere though, do guys carry this model? -

Unfortunatley the Silver Version is not available. Sager only displays the picture and does not offer any other color then the orange version.
-
Eurocom does offer the silver version. They are a Canadian company however, so this may result in shipping issues for some. As far as I know, no US companies are offering the silver version.
-
Ah thats a pity, silver looks better than orange imo.
Another quick question, do these notebooks still have the loud fan issue seen on the np5791? you know, where the fan would just start making loud noise randomly then stop. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
There is some fan noise with the 5792. It has two internal fans. Personally I dont find it bothersome at all.

I believe that someone said that the silver version is bad looking compared to the orange one.

Buy Canadian! -
Sager elected not to offer the silver version because it apparently looks horrible in person (this was apparently a unanimous opinion). Ironically, the orange trim, which might not look sleek and professional in online images, looks much better in person. Go figure.
