    Hello,

The cmos battery in my Clevo M570u laptop has recently died as my laptop keeps losing my time and date settings.

I am looking to replace this battery but was wondering if anyone can advise how you remove the battery from the motherboard. I have located the cmos and can see that it is attached by two wires that are connected to the motherboard however the battery itself also seems to be somehow stuck to the motherboard aswell (even after removing the clear tape across the top of the battery). I dont want to just pull the battery off in case i damage anything.

Can anyone advise how they have managed this? I would also like confirmation if the battery required is a CR2032 battery?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers :)

    i Jenny,
Well, I get same trouble : I should change the CMOS battery on my Clevo M570U.
In fact, you have been through the operation deeper than me, because, I don't yet find the place where this battery is located on the laptop ; I though to find this on the manual, but there is nothing writen about this problem.
It will be kind of you to tell me how to reach this battery.
After that, we will exchange about how to change it, and the model.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards.

Turn off the computer, and turn it over and remove the battery. Remove the bay cover. The CMOS battery is just at the left rear corner. You don't need to remove the CMOS battery itself from the motherboard, just follow the wire that go out from it, it will end with a connector at the motherboard itself. Disconnect that connector, voila......
