2 things.
first how old is the lappy and do you leave the battery connected all the time.
the teeth that hold the plug in place can get loose after a while with continualy plugging in and removing.
also the battery can eventually die if its left plugged in all the time while using mains. it needa a total drain now and again and if you dont use it on battery much then removing it will prolong its life.
remove battery and use mains and see if it boots up as normal.
if not power supply is knakered.
use battery without mains and boot up again.
if it struglles or doesnt boot due to only 4% battery then your battery is knakered or on its last legs. -
Okay i take the stuff back i said about the battery. Its gotta be a problem with the connection from plug to laptop. The adapter is getting power. While plugged in everything seems secure. Plug seems to be fine no damage or loose. I think i need to test it with someone elses adapter.

Hey guys had a thread like this before but I had the oppurtunity some what narrow down the cause. I believe its either the connection (socket) that the ac adapter goes into is loose of mobo needs to be resoldered on. Or a capacitor or resistor is causing the problem. I just need your guys help to figure what exactly is the problem So i can fix it. Please provide much input as possible and How to do it tutorials if you guys know any.
Ac adapter is putting out 19 volts.I checked with multi meter. and i plugged in ibm 16 volt ac adapter to laptop and no reaction from laptop.. So its an issue with the connection yes no? -
thanks for the merge mod
