I posted in the "what notebook should i buy" thread and many people where pointing me to the sager2096.

    1) What is your budget?

    $1500

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    something 15" or bigger

    3) Please select your country's flag as a post icon and tell us what country are you buying this in.

    Canada

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

    not really...

    5) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?

Main Priority: 3d modelings and animation in programs like maya, sony vegas 8
Other Use: I bit of gaming, internet, browsing

    6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?

I will carry it around but I don't mind the weight.

    7) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?

Yes. Mostly counterstrike, counterstrike source, world of warcraft, and a few other games that are coming out. Probly nothing that is pushing the system to run like crisis.

    8) How many hours of battery life do you need?

4-5 hours i can always hook it up to the wall at collage in class.

    9) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?

If i save money, online all the way.

    10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

Windows. XP or vista it doesn't matter

    Screen Specifics
    11) What screen resolutions would you prefer?

Probly a high resolution 1650x1024 or or 1920x1080

    12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?

Doesn't matter, just not something so glossy like a HP screen.

    Build Quality and Design

    13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

Yea, i would like it to look somewhat nice to look at. I'm not expecting to get something that looks like a alienware though.

    14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?

I'm buying it in the summer before i goto collage, so hope get 2-3 years outta it, possibly 5years max.

    Notebook Components

    15) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 500GB?

Probly a 160gb, as i will have a portable usb harddrive to save all my files to.

    16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?

    DVD Burner.

I came out with these specs from xoticpc.com

    Sager 2096
    15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050) w/ nvidia 9600 GT 512mb
    IntelĀ® T9400 45nm "Montevina" Core 2.5ghz
    4gb of ddr2
    250gb 5400RPM HDD
    combo dvd drive
    Windows visita Premium

    $1399

I'm woundering if this is a good pc for what i will be doing, and if sager is a good brand.

Sounds like a good fit. You may also want to check out the new MSI laptop (force on xoticpc.com). For $50-100 more you get a slightly better graphcis card, more features (and most importantly IMO) a much better looking laptop. The only trade off is that the MSI laptop has lower battery life.

    Very good
if you need the extra battery life (even if you say you are by an outlet) it might be a good idea to get another battery (save on shipping costs if you want one later)
