I have been having this problem for a long time now. Did not know what was up for sure until today. not sure what options i have here. although it was working find before. i did notice however when it first broke down. when i tilted the screen at 30 degrees it did work. so maybe im guessing the cable could be damaged? because the wire after opening and closing could be broke or something? Im not sure :( how much do you guys thing a replacement wud cost

you can replace the cable pretty inexpensively.

contact Sager to order a replacement cable.

if you are tilting the screen and the backlight flickers... then its the LCD cable.

if the LCD was bad, then it would not flicker at all if you are opening or closing it at any angle.

if the LCD inverter is bad, then there would be no picture.

In any case, LCD panels are pretty cheap... around $100-150 and easy to replace.

the LCD cable is cheap, but a pain to replace since you have to dismantle a good amount of the notebook to do it.

there is no flickering what so ever. anymore atleast. thing is. i turned on the laptop w/o plugging in the inverter and it did as it normally would. just no backlight. :/

if its just the backlight... you can get that repaired for cheap.

there should be local places near you that can replace the LCD backlight... or you can do it yourself if you are up to it.

look in the yellowpages for electronics repair or LCD repairs.
