hey guys. had a few questions, been saving them up. where can i turn off the blue tooth automatic update feature? also, iive noticed that nero home always is wanting to run in the background alot. ive gone to msconfig, disabled it. and that works, but im wondering if theres a way to turn it off without running in selective startup with
'windows has blocked some programs" alert always showing up? its kinda funny, i didnt install the home feature on purpose, but then its looking for it, useing more resources. and last but not least, ive been reading up on the new driver update (174.90) and it seems that users of 5793 and vista 64 seem happy with it. kinda hard to make a sound decision through other sager laptops, and sli users having a hard time with it. so i guess the question, is 5793 users useing vista 64 and the 8800m gtx likeing the driver update? i think what i ultimately gathered through reading posts is that it lowered 3dmark06 score like 300 points, but it was more stable. well ill thank everyone in advance for their help. don

imo nero sucks (the newest versions)... lol.. but yeah you can use a program like jv16 and kill that process or uninstall and reinstall and leave nero home out..

That app have more bloatware than Norton... If you uninstall it, will leave so much registry keys and .dlls beind that is better to keep it installed. :D

when uninstalling nero it leave almost 1300 registry entries behind.. yes you read that correctly..i have seen nero literally kill vista installation when people have uninstalled it.

The headphone jack is the single worst part in this laptop. It will at one point die.
I counted over 10 forum members with this issue.
    Sollutions:
-Cheap USB sound card from creative, (live! 24bit), much better than onboard sound, good software for tweaking, awesome bass and volume.
-A more expensive but more professional creative xi-fi express slot sound card, which fits in the express slot . I can`t find the post with a user posting a pic of it, but it does extend out of the laptop a few cm.
-Send it back for repairs, Sager should pay both ways for warranty issues.

Before though, make sure you reinstall the drivers, you don`t want to take any chances.

So if my headphone jack breaks done, Sager will cover it in the standard warranty ? And what about shipping from where I live ?

You`ll have to pay for shipping internationally.
I have mine dead, I am still debating whether I should send it for warranty or just get the new mobo with support for extreme cpu`s also and be done with it...

If the port itself is malfunctioning/faulty, it might be replaceable without sending the entire unit in.

Contact your vendor and see if they can show you how to replace the port(s) without having to send the entire unit back.

Wow! this is just crap!!!

btw i saw that the pins inside the headphone jack were unusually depressed as compared to other ports!

so, with the help of a safety pin, custom bent by me i tried to pull em out nd was able to get it to work but only in a specific position nd setting!!!

1 minor disturbance nd u have do the adjustment again!!!

btw i'm thinking of sending it back to xoticpc.com!! or maybe hardmodding the socket after opening this thing up!

i have a lotta experience soldering miniature circuits!!

No you cannot. I`ve been through this with XoticPc and Sager techs. You have to send the unit to them and they`ll probably replace the mobo since the thing is soldered into it.

well im pulling the mobo out.. this way i get get to the traces on the other side to actually solder on new plugs.. so im sure this will void warranty though they may not even know since the plug i got matches the same color as the stock one.. unless they actually open it up but i can solder pretty much as neat as the factory does.. so im not sure what their take on that will be, he just doesnt want to wait to send it back since he is leaving the country to go back to iraq this weekend.. so im trying to get it done before he leaves for him

well technically any part can be replaced.. is it something id want someone to do if they are not sure of circuit board reapir.. and i mean very small traces etc.. not really. i would not want to be responsible for someone pulling their whole mobo out then soldering it wrong or burning up their mobo by soldering to hot or to long etc..

once i see how much work is involved ill def post up info.. just am not sure many here will be able to do this repair themselves while others will..

basically right now i can tell you need to pull the whole mobo out. then de-solder the one on there and solder on a new one.. not a big job IF YOU KNOW what you are doing

I've made quite a few miniature circuit boards etc. so i guess its something i can do! :)

btw is only the jack at fault of ne other part of the mobo?

who my daughter?? she is 2.. = )

it may be the piece inside the jack that makes contact is to thin and maybe does not retain its position.. you may be able to gently bend it a bit and get it back to shape.. but it prob will not last long ........

unless its a bad solder joint that sometimes makes contact and sometimes does not

Generally 2 yr olds r fun! they r usually enjoying themselves! :)

btw i strongly feel that the pins r at fault cause, if the socket wont make contact at least the ext speakers would work!

in my case i guess the pins r messed up due to ultra low quality jacks used by clevo!!

thats what i'm talking about! :)

i get such an expensive gaming lappy only to find it messed up within a week!!!

besides the jack which is top priority! they should undergo rigorous quality checks such as HPs!!! which i guess is nil in clevo, sager etc.!!

My D900K's headphone jack is solid metal. Used it almost everyday for 2 years.. no problems.

I think that Clevo might have bought faulty jacks from a particular manufacturer. Then Clevo might not have realized that when manufacturing the final product.

Maybe, but it still does not justify much. If things are what Sager say they are, it would only cost them more to fix the issue than to get Clevo to use better jacks.
