i was wondering on all sites i checked (live in Toronto Canada) there are no options for the gpu other then a fortnax
Nvidia GeForce GTX 485M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 Video Memory + $275.00
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M GPU with 1.5GB GDDR5 Video Memory + 0.00
Nvidia GeForce GTX 580M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 Video Memory + $495.00
they all offer the 560 but there is a huge difference in preformance between the 560 and the next stage up the 485
benchmark review rates 560 at 1271 and the 485 at 2240
thats almost double
i need this to be able to run solidworks 2011 (cad program) on a affordable budget. so i would like to get the 485
but i would rather go with reflex because they offer a ssd and 8gb ram for 200$ less in total then fortnax
but they off no 485 not even sager web site offers anything but 560 no can anyone tell me why? no options for the gpu?

hi and welcome to nbr
the 485 is an old card so is being phased out. -
thx
but its much better then the 560. so i have to wait for April for them to offer the 580 as a option? or will we never have an option now for the 8150? -
ill have to check the model numbers as i have no idea which the 8150 is. im in the uk so all different names and numbers here.
hopefully one of the resellers will be able to advise. -

The NP8151 does list the GTX 560M as the only option at this time. Since the ship date is not until April 12th the options are subject to change before the ship date.
We're actually under NDA on exactly what will happen but the current date for the NDA to lift is April 5th. If options change that will be the soonest date. -
you're looking at kind of an awkward time.. A lot of resellers have stopped selling because Ivy Bridge and the new 6xx series nvidia GPU's are due out soon.
If you don't have to buy right now, I'd definitely wait another month. Hopefully the new stuff will be in full swing by then.
I'm not sure what benchmark you're referring to, but the performance between the 560M and 485M in SolidWorks doesn't appear to be much @1080p. 560M averages 6fps, 485 performs ~4% better with 6.2fps, and the 580 performs ~20% better than the 485 with 7.8fps..
I've never used SolidWorks, but if that's all you're using the laptop for, maybe you'd be better off considering something with a Quadro series card?

No problem. Keep in mind the $50 deferred shipping discount will also be taken off once the NDA does lift bringing computers up to their regular prices.
