sadly, brand new 8690 died after 6 days of use. was playing a long wow session and a poof of grey smoke shot out the left vent (assuming im facing the machine) which is the cpu heatsink i believe. Machine has no power at all, and when the power brick is plugged in, it blinks green, but when not plugged into PC its solid green. Sadly, this was the most awesome PC ive ever had, and i assume this isnt common. RMA out. -=/

Absolutely not common, but manufacturing erros can happen no matter how high the product quality, that's why there is guarantee. Hope you'll get the problem solved soon!

Wow, that would have made me soil my pants instantly. Here's hoping you get it in working order and that it works flawlessly for years to come.

Well there's your problem. It couldn't stand having to sit through WoW any longer. Way to go, you just made your laptop commit suicide. :p

eh, i think user having to pay shipping is common, i had to do it with another vendor years ago. On the + side, rj is friendly and quick.

Its good to hear RJTech is easy to work with, I just ordered a barebones box 2 days ago...

Good luck with your repair and I hope it was nothing too serious..

Oh, im sure it was a Motherboard blow out....i kinda wanted a new unit, but rj only does repairs i guess, and he does it him self. I also hear theres a shortage of ATI GPUS, so i hope it wasent that.....(on a laptop if the gpu dies, the pc will still boot/get power right?) And my unit had a good screen, 1 stuck pixle that works 80% of the time.
