i know it can support the new e6850 processor but does the motherboard run at 1066 (like the 9260) or does it boast a faster bus of 1333?

i know the e6850 is 1333. that is the intel processor.

i am asking if the motherboard of the 9261 is 1333 fsb or does it still run on 1066 fsb like the 9260?

if it was 1066 it couldn't run a 1333 CPU

If it were 1066, it would run the E6850 @ 2.4GHz, but it does support the 1333MHz.

Thanks for consolidating this into a single thread.

I was posting earlier that the Clevo site states the 901C comes with the P965 chipset which is only capable of 1066 FSB.

The new E6x50 CPUS require the P35 chipset.

So I"m not sure exactly what I'm going to receive on my 9261... although I'm getting the Q6600 so probably not a big deal anyway.

No, the 965 does support 1333MHz FSB. P35 is needed for 45nm CPUs. See this thread:

Most P965, 975x, 650i and 680i boards do support 1333MHz; all that is needed is the proper BIOS.

Sager wouldn't be selling the NP9261's with the new 1333MHz FSB CPUs if they wouldn't run correctly.

Thou arst a true believer! :)

Opportunistic decisions and mistakes are not alien to our world. The 9260 is a good product but one of the reasons for the motherboard revision was probably due to such.

Keep asking the right questions guys!
