    hi as i m quite new to laptop... i need a RS232 express card
    may i know how i do i know which express card can fix to my laptop?

    or anyone know where can purchase a gd one

    i do have USB to RS232 converter but somehow sometime it dont works well or dont work at all

    sorry can i ask u mean Express Card 54/34 adapter

    is either Express Card 34 adapter or Express Card 54 adapter will works?

    Yes, either will work.

    There are 2 widths of express card, your laptop has a 54mm wide slot which can take either a 54mm wide card or a 34mm wide card.

    If i stick in one of these into my 8662, does that mean ill be able to attach another monitor?

    No. This is a serial port, not a VGA port, they are completely different.


    If it's an old laptop it probably has a PCMCIA (PC-Card) slot which is slightly larger than ExpressCard and incompatible with it.

    i think my old ibm r50e is using PCMCIA... it must thicker.. compare to currently np8662

    haha i tot i can get one and use in both laptop :p
