Alright I did a custom build on XoticPC for the Sager NP8690 to match that of the M15x. The only difference between the two is that the M15x has a GTX 260M and the Sager has a GTX 280M. The price difference? $15
Now to add to that price difference XoticPC isn't charging me sales tax, free delivery, and it gets processed and out the door faster. So unless Dell wants to give me some major discount I'm going with the Sager.
To further bash Dell just because I can, I'm in the Army and using the AAFES website which allows us to purchase PC's and laptops at a discounted price with no sales tax. But here's the kicker, for certain upgrades they are gouging the hell out of the military.
    M15x
CPU - no option for i7-720 forcing us to buy a 820
GPU - no option for GT 240M, only option is GTX 260M
    Starting price $1999
Want Lunar Shadow color? Add $293.35, thats normally free for eveyone else
Want Nebula Red color? Add $375.52
And if you dont pay attention they get you with McAfee® VirusScan Plus – 15-Month Subscription (English) [add $84.55] which is already selected
To me its just rediculous to the crap they're pulling on the men and women defending the country.

For the opposite reason I went back to the M17x instead of getting the Clevo. In the end Dell offered me a 20% discount and the Clevo retailer I talked to offered 1%. If you go to dell.com/epp you'll get 10% right off the bat. Another 3% if you pay with DPA. Then on top of that they give out coupons for their systems every once in a while. Last week they had a $100 stackable coupon for systems over $1399. The discounts are out there if you know how to find them. Last resort is simply asking for the discount. The reps have the ability to negotiate the price. Oh and shipping has always been free for the Alienware systems. Good luck!

I have a Vostro 1500 as well. Very clean look for work, played quite a few games with a 8400m gs and 1.4 c2d. I'm a bit rough with tech and it is still running strong. Using it 40+ hours a week at work, and then 100+ a week at home or on the road. I debated getting a gaming desktop for home and using the vostro just for work and on the road. Though I went ahead and bought the np8690 so I could play games and do more processor intensive things on the go. It looks to be as sturdy as the vostro.

Like you, if it lasts 2 years with my usage, then I'll be completely satisfied. Even more so if later on next year I am able to upgrade the graphics card to the g300m.

There is zero possibility of this happening.

I loved my Vostro 1500, though I sold it to my then girlfriend.

Lasting that long with my usage, being able to upgrade the graphics card or both?

I'll be reluctantly giving my Vostro to a family member currently without a laptop.

    Hey Guys,

Regarding NP8690, what do you think about add the dual fans cooler as upgrade?

    One more question...

What are your suggestion, buy from XOTICPC or MALIBAL?

    What´s the difference between than?

    Tks

I would recommend xoticpc over malibal especially since xoticpc is cheaper.. And I think you mean on xoticpc pc they give you a 17 inch cooler upgrade. If that is what you mean then you don't need it. It does not over heat,it adds to the noisy fans and uses more power which is already bad.

And on another note If you want something flashier and you want the SAGER on xoticpc they let you pick a design for 89-189 USD.

    I have 2 questions
    1. How thick is the sager?
    2. Would undervolting decrease the loud fans?

    W860CU: 37.5 x 25.4 x 5.1cm
    M15x: 37.8 x 30.9 x 4.9cm

Yes, undervolting will decrease fan noise.
