Hey guys im currently looking to upgrade my graphics card on my Sager NP9262 (Clevo Dc901) i have a 8800mGTX 512 mb, i checked on the MXM-upgrade website but was kind of confused, i have a few questions:
I belive it says DC901 supports MXM IV, is this true?
Can i use MXM 3,3b and 2?
and can i support a 1gb Single card?
ive done a search and found a few past threads but none of them really answered my questions..

and also Whats the highest Quadro FX card i can use? ive been finding some decent deals on that card
-
Highest GeForce GPU you can use: GeForce 9800M GTX MXM 2.1 Type IV.
Highest Quadro card you can use: Quadro FX 3700M (I am 95% certain of this).
It's worth mentioning that due to the astronomical price of the 9800m and the rarity of the Quadros, that you are likely better off getting a whole new machine, unless you can score one of the two for a good price. -
D901C supports MXM v2.1 not v3.0.
So you can't use v3.0 type A/B cards.
It is true that D901C supports MXM v2.1 Type IV but it has no point here.
Because the only one type IV card it takes is 7950 go GTX which is too old for D901C.
The rest in the list below are MXM v2.1 Type III(Don't mistake MXM Type III with MXM v3.0. They are totally different.)
And the highest Quadro card in the list is FX3700M which has 1GB vram. -
Here is the pic of 9800MGT and 7950go GTX.
Type IV-HE 7950go GTX is larger than Type III-HE 9800MGT.
And 9800MGT uses the same P398 board as that of 9800MGTX.
