Is it me or that I can not find a single common memory manufacturer (crucial, kingston, corsair, samsung) that makes compatible ram for the sager 5760 or clevo M570U? Btw what type of ram is in the 5760? I mean I know its DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz but whats the latency on it? and is it pc3200 or lower or higher? Thanks

Um so now i got my notebook and i opened it up. I saw the ram and part number and such. But I cant find any info on this ram anywhere, not even the manufaturers site. On the label it says

    Jet Ram
    J12Q3AB-6
    T0625PF

Anyways i just wanted to get some info on this ram, and whether its any good. I only got 1gb-1 stick, of ram and want to upgrade to another gig.

Chaz- I noticed that u said the ram should have been PC5400 but on the link you provided it was PC5300. Now I am not sure if thats gonna make much difference. But i just want to maximum compatiblity between the 2 sticks.

PC5300, PC5400, same memory. It's just a numbering issue. The numbering is calculated by multiplyng the RAM speed by eight, so 667 * 8 = 5336. Some manufacturers round up, others down, it doesn't make a difference - same stuff.

We use crucial ram in our sager/clevo based systems but are currently testing a lower latency module from simpletech which we may start using.

It is good memory or Sager wouldn't be using it, but only those memory brands that advertise a lot put their label on it.

Not all brands of memory will work in your Sager laptop, so either buy it from your Sager dealer or Sager directly, or make sure the vendor you buy it from has a good return policy in case you have to return it and try another brand.

Keep in mind that if you buy it from other than your Sager dealer or Sager directly you will have two places to look for technical support and warranty support. If you have memory issues, the first thing Sager technicians will tell you is to take out the memory that you bought elsewhere so they can trouble shoot what they are responsible for supporting. Even if you can save a few dollars in the beginning, you may pay for it later with unnecessary hassles and shipping costs.

you can trust the following brands to works on almost all systems:
    Kingston
    Crucial
    Corsair

Those brands are always the benchmarks for the RAM makers to be supported by the majority of desktop and notebook systems out there. But giving Sager a call would not be a bad idea. Although Clevo notebooks seem very industry standard compatibility for CPU's and RAM.
